A Rank retrieval mission Empty
PostSubject: A Rank retrieval mission   A Rank retrieval mission EmptyMon Mar 29, 2010 11:45 pm

A week had passed since his meeting with Reimara and Calintz now trudged across the barren Sand dunes that made up the Sand territory. Calintz now had a light body holster worn under his clothes which contained kunai and shuriken among other things. He had picked them up from one of the many 'hiding spots' he had established on previous missions. In this case, he had retrieved supplies from a small cavity under the floorboards of an Inn of the Sand village.

Calintz drew out two pieces of paper from his pocket and unfolded them one at a time. The first, was his mission briefing

Type: Retrieval
Mission Rank: A
Assigned: Calinitz
Objective: Search and find a hidden tomb somewhere in sand territory. The object you are looking for is a blood red crystal said to be somewhere amongst the bodies. There will be resistance as the tomb has been known to be guarded 24/7. Information was collected from specific sources.

Below that was the seal of the Syndicate to mark it as being Authentic, although only a member of the Syndicate would recognize it as such.

The second piece of paper was a map that would lead him to his objective. whilst the tomb would have been nigh on impossible for him to find on his own, his saving grace was that apparently the tomb was guarded and surely stories of a tomb from which no one ever returned, or even just a rogue base out in the desert somewhere could help to lead him to it. In the end, it had been a simple task as many people knew of a "forgotten" tomb that lay far to the south west of the Sand village and was said to be jealously guarded by a zealous cult. Based on that, Calintz had drawn up the map he know held and had set off. he expected the journey to take the better part of two days and he had been right, because now as the afternoon sun was beginning its descent, Calintz crested a final dune and set his eyes upon a ruined structure that was partially buried under the sand.

being cautious of detection by unseen foes, Calintz stayed low to the ground, just barely peeking over the rise and keeping a lookout for patrols or any other form of obvious security. There were none, which was something that worried Calintz more. it meant there was a good chance that those who guarded the place would be inside, or were well hidden. It was a gamble either way, but in the end he reasoned that they were unlikely to keep a staunch vigil every day in a place like this. So, careful to stay crouched low, Calintz swiftly, yet carefully descended the dune towards the structure, eyes peeled for the entrance or for any sign of movement.

Moving around the perimeter of what he assumed was the main building, Calintz peeked around a corner and found the entrance, as well as two men wearing flowing white robes with runes sewn into them, giving them a very cult-ish look. With a sly grin, Calintz made a rapid sequence of hand signs before he disappeared. In his place, was one of the men who was standing guard outside the entrance.

Now under the guise of the transformation jutsu, Calintz quickly made his way around the corner, a kunai concealed in his left hand. he had to be quick or the element of surprise afforded him by this trick would be wasted. As he approached, the nearest man noticed him and frowned, no doubt trying to work out who he was. Calintz quickened his pace and the second man turned, shouting a greeting at what he perceived to be an ally as he did so. It was over in a flash, Calintz whipped the kunai through the first mans throat and buried it to the handle in the second mans throat. They both fell slowly to the ground while blood gurgled from their mouths and throats. Keeping the disguise, Calintz quickly made his way inside the tomb.

Now, he drew out a third and final piece of paper from his pocket to reveal a sketched diagram of the tombs interior. It consisted of 3 areas. The main antechamber, the burial chamber, and a long corridor that connected the two. Looking around at the antechamber, he found it to be empty with lit torches lining the walls. With a mental shrug, Calintz stepped forwards tentatively and made his way towards the entrance to the corridor. The jewel he was looking for would no doubt be in the burial chamber.

Making his way down the corridor, Calintz soon hear what sounded like a toneless chant. The further he went, the louder it became until finally he found himself looking at 3 more men in white robes standing inside a pentagram of some sort, all of them were holding daggers and as he watched, they simultaneously stabbed themselves.

"A suicide cult?" he wondered, expecting them to fall down. But they didn't, instead they kept chanting and that's when Calintz suddenly realized exactly what it was they were chanting "Hail Lord Jashin". But before he could fully realize the implications of what he was hearing, there was a shout from behind him. Calintz turned, and to his horror and amazement, he found himself looking the two men he had killed earlier in the eye. There was no mistaking it, he could see where he had inflicted the wounds, the blood was still trickling down and their robes were stained.

The other 3 men had heard the shout and looked up at him. One of them made a series of hand seals and Calintz's jutsu dissipated, leaving him surrounded by the 5 men. Correction, 5 immortal Jashin worshipers.

"Well this is just shit" he said to no one in particular as he took a stance and prepared to fight.

Two of the men lunged at Calintz simultaneously. One had an ugly gash across his throat from Calintz's earlier assassination attempt, while the other was unharmed... That was until Calintz deftly took hold of his left arm and maneuvered him into position so that he acted as a human shield. The two men collided, neither of them taking damage that would inflict major harm on a mortal enemy, never mind an immortal one. But Calintz had taken the opportunity to make a rapid sequence of hand signs and suddenly Calintz's hands were wreathed in crackling electricity that spread halfway up his arms.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Shadow Lightning Technique

Rank: C

Tajutsu

This jutsu causes the user's arms and palms to become wreathed in lightning. The ninja can use this to enhance their unarmed strikes, or they can discharge it at once, arcing a large amount of electricity into a single foe.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Without waiting to let his opponents take stock of what they were up against, Calintz struck out at the two mean who had previously chanting and had yet to enter the fray. Evidently, being immortal didn't make them powerful as well because they both flew across the room and slammed against the stone walls of the room before collapsing to the ground. behind him The other 3 men had regained their feet and now all had their daggers drawn, murder in their eyes. On the other side of the room, the two stricken men were also staggering to their feet

"This is ridiculous", Calintz cursed, discharging the lightning that still crackled up his arms in a single bolt that landed amidst the 3 men closest to him "That should keep you down for a little while" he muttered, eyes scanning the room. Searching... searching for... Calintz's eyes lit up as they set on a brilliant red gem placed atop some form of shrine set up against the wall opposite the rooms entrance.

"Lucky the mission wasn't to kill all resistance, that could be kinda tricky" he laughed as he sprinted across the room. The men, as if sensing his intentions, roared and charged after him. Calintz made another set of hand seals as he ran, this time when he finished only his right hand began to build up electricity, but this time the lightning was far more dense and wild, it also sang like a huge flock of birds
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Chidori

Rank: A

Element: Lightning

Description: Chidori

This jutsu channels a large amount of lightning chakra to the user's hand. The amount of chakra is so great that it becomes visible. The high concentration of electricity produces a sound reminiscent of many birds chirping, hence the name. Once the technique is completed, the user charges forward and thrusts the Chidori into the target. This produces heavy amounts of damage that is usually fatal. The drawback of this technique is the large amount of chakra needed to use the technique, with a max of 4 uses per day and the tunnel vision that the user develops while using the technique.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spinning on the spot, Calintz thrust his Chidori hand straight at the nearest mans torso. Calintz could feel the rending of bone and muscle and he could almost immediately smell burning flesh. Calintz withdrew his hand as the lightning subsided to reveal a gaping, charred hole in the center of the mans torso. The man simply collapsed where he stood. The remaining 4 men formed a loose ring around him. With nothing to lose, Calintz grabbed the stone fro where it sat reverently and the men's eyes all seemed to ignite with rage at such sacrilege.

Calintz made to step forwards, but a hand grabbed his ankle. Looking down in surprise, Calintz could see the impaled man struggling to rise while holding his ankle. "You sons of bitches really wont die will you?" he exclaimed in frustration.
"Well fine then, if I cant kill you, I'll just do the next best thing..."
Calintz stomped on the arm that held him, which thankfully let go with a howl of pain from one of the men. Calintz then jumped straight upwards, his powerful body propelling him up to the roof, where he stuck like a fly thanks to his ninja training.
He then pushed off, rocketing over the heads of the Jashin cult members and landing several feet short of the exit.

The men roared as one and charged at him, but Calintz was already making one final set of hand seals. As he completed them he said with a smile, "Sorry guys, but I don't have time to play with you and I cant risk you coming after me, so it ends here"
"One hundred thunder claps!"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Name: One Hundred Thunder Claps Technique
Rank: B

Ninjutsu

This technique involves a physical lightning component, and also a secondary sonic component. The user channels a large amount of lightning into their palms and then claps them together. The lightning is compressed and then forced out in a shockwave around the ninja that radiates for about twenty feet in every direction. While not deadly, the shock can be incapacitating. As a secondary effect, the clapping of the palms and discharge of lightning creates an abnormally large sound once described by the former Raikage as "the force of one hundred thunder claps" (hence the technique's name). This sonic component is much like a sonic boom and is able to shatter glass and even knock people off their feet as well as serving as a beacon to allies in the area.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Calintz slammed his hands together and a deafening roar swept forwards, catching all 5 men and flinging them onto their backs as though they had just ran into a solid wall. A moment later there was a rush of pressurized air that slammed into the walls of the room, seeking the path of least resistance. In the process, all of the pillars, although solid in their time were now frail and shattered under the concussive wave of air and rubble obscured the men from sight. But that wasn't the end of it. Moments later, the roof of the building, submerged under however many tonnes of sand and now with no pillars to support it, began to simply cave in.

With his objective in hand, Calintz gave a quick mock salute to the men who were still inside, turned on his heels and sprinted for the exit. It took all of 30 seconds to race up the corridor, another 10 to cross the antechamber, all the while the entire structure was shaking and large chunks of the roof caved in under the sand that came roaring in, some of which Calintz barely dodged or missed him by sheer chance. Calintz made it outside a full 5 seconds before the main entrance itself caved in. Calintz retreated up the nearest sand hill and watched in awe as the remnant of the tomb simply sank down into the sand never to be seen again.

When everything had settled, Calintz spared a thought for the men now buried eternally under hundreds of tonnes of sand and rubble. never able to die, but never able to so much as move a finger either.

"Immortality's a bitch" he chuckled as he began his journey home. Holding the red gem up to the sun he grinned, "Mission complete"
