AREA 1 (APOLLO & SHIN MEGAMI & TOSHIHIKO & AKASORA HIE)

THE FOREST IS AN EXACT COPY OF ALL THE OTHERS AS SOME SMALL RIVERS FLOW THROUGH THE AREAS AND THE TREES REACH UP TO UNIMAGINABLE HEIGHTS. THE PROCTERS PLACE A PIECE OF PAPER WITH INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT THE TASK AT HAND IN THE FOREST AND SCROLL INSIDE OF EACH OF THE NINJA'S EQUIPMENT, BEFORE LETTING THEM ENTER THE IMMENSE FOREST.

As soon as the gates opened, Akasora ran as fast as she could away from the others and got her scroll with the paper and ran out of sight from the others. Once she found a safe place to hide, she checked the peice of paper with the instuction on it. "Hhhmmm, makes sence," she whispered to herself. She reached into her bag where she had put her scoll. "Heaven, huh," once again whispering to herself. She stood up and looked around at her surroundings. This forest was very much eary. Their were no happy birds cherrping, no adventourese squarls ranning around. The forest seemed dead inside. Looking up at one of the tall trees, Akasora mapped out her climbing pattern. She jumped up and jumped from branch to branch till she was high enough she could see the great distance around her. She watched for her opponents to see what they will do.

Before Toshihiko actually entered she received a scroll and a note with instrucitons from the first part of the chuunin exams. Reading the note she sighed and placed both items into her equipment bag. To her it was no game of hide and seek so she didn't had the feeling that she would have to hide herself. Sooner or later she'll meet somebody from this area and it will surely come to a fight. The forest was amazingly huge. Taking a deep breath of the forest air she decided to walk towards a river keeping her chakra flow as low as possible. Maybe a few Genin where able to sence the chakra from other ninja so she stayed alert. The tree's where pretty tall and dense and she could only hear the noise from the water. Controlling chakra at the bottom of her feet she walked towards a strong and big tree. Controlling chakra was one of her skills. As she reached a very high branch Toshihiko looked around making a picture of the area. Now she was able to see the river as well and headed towards it , still being wary like a watch-dog.

Akasora watched as her new friend Toshi entered the forest. If she could trust anyone in this exam, Toshi was the only one. She then started to go after Toshi but before she could reach her, Toshi ran off. Akasora though fallowed her close behinde but stayed unscene. The trees were very tall and one miss guided jump could cause either of them to fall to their death. It seemed the feather they went into this dead forest the more dark and grim it became. Akasora could hear running water and figured it was where Toshiho was headed. She looked back and could no longer see the gates or the other two. Fiiguring they where still reading their instructions, Akasora called up to Toshihiko. "TOSHI!" She yelled as she came out of hiding. "Wait for me! Lets work together. What scroll do you have?"

Shin waited a few minutes as the other competitors rushed through the gate eager to start the exam. Smiling briefly he took off at a sprint into the forest before halting by once he could no longer see the entrance. Reaching into his pack he drew out the scroll and the piece of parchment that held the instructions, although he already knew what he had to do. Turning the scroll over in his hands he finally found the word on it that would determine who he would have to eliminate to advance. "So i got the Earth scroll eh. That means i have to find someone with the Heaven scroll" he said as he placed the scroll on the ground and drew a kunai out of his holster.

Shin proceeded to walk in a circle using the scroll as a center point, as he did so he slashed every tree he came to as a marker. After he had slashed five or so trees he walked back to where the scroll was and dug a hole which he buried the scroll in. "This way even if i dont manage to defeat my opponent they still wont be able to find my scroll and i can attack them again when i get the chance" he thought to himself as he patted the dirt down and then covered the hole with leaves from the trees. Just when he finished his preparations he heard a female voice yell in the distance. "Amateur ninja" he sighed "She's making this too easy" he said outloud before sprinting through the underbrush in the direction of the voice.

As Toshihiko took a few jumps and reached the riverside ,she could tell that somebody was watching her. It was a uncomfortable feeling. Suddenly she heard a to her familiar voice yelling her nickname. Laughing a little she saw Akasora running towards her. Before Toshihiko could say even hello to her friend she asked her to team up. Thoughtful she scratched her chin. Actually they should fight each other for the scrolls but if they should have the same kind of scroll it would make sense to ally. Reaching for her equipment bag she hoped that Akasora and her would have the same kind of scroll. It would be hard for her to fight a new friend in the exams. Hesitant Toshihiko pulled out the scroll that she had obtained earlier. Her grip was tight and she showed Akasora ,smiling, her scroll. " U-uhm.. It is nice to see you Akasora. I have the Earth Scroll. How about you? What kind of scroll do you have?" Toshihiko stayed alert in case she would plan a sudden attack. Before she placed the scroll back in her own bag, Toshihiko thought that somebody must have noticed them since she felt this uncomfortable feeling that somebody was watching them again. Quickly Toshihiko placed the earth scroll safe in her equipment bag waiting for Akasora's reply.

As Toshihiko stop, Akasora stop a few feet away from here. Toshi may be her friend but she still had to stay alert and ready to kill, anything. As Toshi told her she had the earth scroll Akasora's heart raced. She was not scared for some reason, it was excitement. She was exited to fight, the fact that it was her only friend meant nothing to her. Does this happen to everyone in these event? She thought. "So," she finally spoke, "will you try and kill me?" She should no weakness to Toshi. She was ready to fight her friend. Akasora reached behind her back, getting her hand ready to draw her right sword. "I have the heaven scroll." She could tell someone was coming. She could almost smell the ninja, he was so close. "or we could kill this ninja that's coming together and give whatever scroll he has to the person that needs it. Then go after the other ninja...together." She said and waited for Toshihiko's reply. Akasora's hart raced faster and faster as she waited and as the mystery ninja got closer.

Due to lack of posting Apollo has been kicked out of the exams (Sorry for this brief message. WAHAHAHA)

Toshihiko noticed that Akasora stayed calm while she spoke. In this exam there was no need to kill but she would do anything to get a heaven scroll. As Akasora reached for her blade Toshihiko shook her head heavily and sighed. If there would be the possibility that the other ninja has a earth scroll they both would have to fight Akasora for the heaven scroll and if he had the earth scroll , both , Akasora and the other ninja ,would have to hunt her down. "No Akasora. I will fight you. I intended to fight the first person that has the oppsite scroll of mine." As Toshihiko said this she grabbed for her katana. It would be hard to fight a friend , that thought was on her mind all the time , but if Akasora showed no fear , there was no way that she could show any of it. Thinking of a few capabilities Toshihiko stayed alert and decided to let Akasora make the first move. The grip around Toshihiko's katana was tight and she knew how serious this exam was but somehow she couldn't help it but smile at her friend.

A part of her knew her friend would turn agenst her. "You should not have done that," Akasora said. It was then that she noticed the smile on Toshihiko's face. "Why are you smile? Whats so great about this? Are you glade your going to fight a friend?" Then Akasora seemed to have a realization, "your not my friend. Your just like everyone else. Making frineds then stabbing them in the back. Well I figured you out sister and it not going to work." She then grabbed both of her Katana's and lunged at Toshi, her ex-friend.

Toshihiko listened carefully to Akasora's words. Her voice sounded sad but actually she hadn't ment to turn against her. This is a exam they have to give their best even if they have to fight their own comrades. Akasora aimed for her chest but Toshihiko was able to block it with her own Katana and a Kunai she had pulled out a second before Akasora's hit landed on her. "Akasora what are you talking about! We are friends this fight has nothing to do with our friendship. There's no need to kill Akasora!" With that Toshihiko pushed against her Katanas forcing Akasora to fall back a little. Taking the chance Toshihiko made a flip,standing on her hands and spinning her feet clock-wise around herself trying to land a kick on Akasora. "This is a exam." she said quietly while jumping back after Toshihiko had no urge anymore. It seemed all so unreal to her. Akasora first seemed to have no problems fighting her but then all of a sudden she blamed her for abandoning others.Shaking her head Toshihiko re-focused on the fight. There was no time for thinking of such things. Akasora had a advantage since she had two katana's so she had to stay alert and avoid to be surprised by a sneak attack from her.

Shin continued sprinting through the underbrush towards the direction of the voice, in a matter of moments he could hear the faint chattering of female voices and as he neared he slowed his place to a near crawl. Shin stopped as soon as he could hear what the voices were saying clearly and crouched low in the bushes, from the sound of the conversation the two girls were having they were friends placed as opponents by the wheel of fate.

Before long the conversation degenerated into the innevitable battle and the two women clashed blades briefly before seperating and staring each other down.Shin smiled, if things continued like this he would pass the exam much easier than he had expected and then he could move on to become the great ninja he was destined to be. Staying low and moving slowly as not to be heard Shin backed away from his hiding place, he was too close to the battle and he didnt want his position to be given away by any stray attacks.

Akasora had been Disqualified. The two remaining fighters, please continue.

Confused Toshihiko looked down at herself. She was in her fighting position and had pulled out a Kunai. Sighing and not wasting another thought she placed the Kunai back in her equipment-bag that is tied around the upper part from her leg. Only her and another participant are present in this part of the forest. Reaching behind her Toshihiko placed her Katana in it's sheet as well. Eventually she would need her hands if the other participant would attack. Somehow she was excited. Now she can fight with her full power. The need to hold back because of her flames or anything else was gone. But she knew not to overdo it and not underestimate her opponent. It reminded her off what happened to Kairiki earlier. She wondered how he is doing and if he is already awake. Toshihiko's view fell on the river she previously headed to. This location would be a disadvantage for her. Toshihiko didn't want to waste more time to find her opponent so she decided to let him find her. Leaking out her chakra , in a level that wouldn't tire her, she hoped for him to find her better that way and headed back to where she previously came from. Her memory was actually quite good so she had no problem to head back even though every tree seemed to look the same , they had some special features which helped her to find her way back. Toshihiko stopped as she reached a clearance. The sunbeams lightened the spot up. Nodding that this could be a good area to fight she now waited for her opponent ,that hopefully has some experience, to find her.

Shin lay on his stomach under a bush looking into the clearing, silently thanking the god of fate that he had found such an incompetent opponent, ninja's were all about stealth and this girl was just standing in the middle of a clearing ignoring the first rule of being a ninja, concealing your location and catching your enemy unaware is the key to victory. Silently Shin pushed himself up until he was crounching on his haunches before gathering chakra to his hands as he grabbed 3 shuriken from the holster at his thigh.

Leaping from his hiding place into the clearing, he tossed the 3 shuriken at the girl before clapping the palms of his hands together briefly and then extending the palm of his right hand towards the shuriken "Fuuton: Reppusho (Violent Wind Palm)" he called out. Almost instantly a strong gust of wind emanated from his palm and pushed the shuriken forward causing them to fly towards her at an accelerated speed.

Toshihiko stayed alert to avoid a surprise attack. Indeed it was a mistake not to cover but she wasn't in the mood to hide. Sooner or later they had to fight anyway so it would just speed things up. Since she had focused all her senses around the area she could hear a susurration from the bushes in front of her. Her view fell right on that direction and almost too late Toshihiko saw three Shurikens making their way towards her. By instinct she pulled out a Kunai to block them with ease but when the stranger called out a technique she was caught off guard for a second. The shurikens gained speed as a wind filled with chakra was fired towards her. One of the shurikens Toshihiko was able to block with the Kunai , the second one by moving aside but the third one she couldn't avoid and her left cheek was sliced by it slightly. Blood was running from Toshihiko's cheek and all she did was placing her fingertips on it to wipe the blood away. "Took you long enough to find me." Her voice was calm so her breathing. "I guess you are Shin Megami right?" Sighing she was glad that her opponent obviously seemed to have the ability to use wind-based techniques. It was a great advantage for her. Probably he would underestimate her now since she didn't hide like all the other ninja would. Throwing the Kunai next to her she tried to ignore her little injurie and finish this off as quickly as possible. A few seconds after Toshihiko tossed the Kunai aside she formed 6 hand seals as fast as she could while collecting chakra in her lungs. The names of the handsigns crossed her mind over and over so she wouldn't make a mistake.Taking a deep breath she formed a ring with her index finger and thumb in front of her mouth blowing a large fireball towards the bush where her opponent hid. "Katon: Gōkakyu no Jutsu (Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique)!" Toshihiko said quiet not calling it out. Since Toshihiko obviously forced him out of his hideout she pulled out the Katana from her back with her free hand. When she stopped blowing out chakra she stood in her battle stance staying alert to avoid a sneak attack from any of her sides.

Shin wasnt fazed by his opponent managing to dodge his preliminary assault, at most he was impressed that she managed to deflect and dodge the first two shuriken, although the third one did manage to graze her left cheek causing a small scratch to appear. As she wiped away the blood from her cheek the girl suddenly started to speak "Took you long enough to find me....I guess you are Shin Megami right?" she said before sighing deeply and tossing the kunai she had used to deflect his shuriken to the ground.

Almost as soon as she dropped the kunai, Shin saw her form a series of handsigns before placing her thumb and forefingers to her lips and inhaling before positioning herself so that she was aimed at him. "This cant possibly be good" Shin thought just as Toshiko exhaled causing a large ball of fire to come flying towards him. "With that huge thing blocking her view this is my chance to attack" Shin mused as the ball of fire continued its flight towards him. Jumping out from behind the bush Shin took off at a sprint directly towards the fireball before leaping gracefully over it , burning his back slightly, and continuing his sprint towards toshiko and striking at her gut with his left fist.

Toshihiko smiled inside that her technique worked so succsesfully but her expression was the same. Suddenly Toshihiko could feel the pressence from her enemy coming from the front. She had expected that he would attack from her sides but he just jumped over the fireball. Confused with the Katana in her hand Toshihiko watched how her opponent sprinted towards her. He tried to land a hit on her stomach which she almost couldn't block with the flat side of her katana. With both hands she had to force her opponent back and took the fact that he didn't try to land a hit with his other fist as an advantage. Toshihiko knew that his strength could cause a lot of trouble but she was sure that she could keep up with her own speed. A sudden inspiration crossed her mind as she tried to think of what to do next. While gathering chakra at the bottom of her feet Toshihiko made flip backwards to use the tree behind her as a impulsion for her jump into the air. Placing her Katana back in it’s sheat her eyes where focused on her opponent. Forming four hand seals she was excited but by her looks you couldn’t tell. Her expression was cold as always when she had to fight. "Katon: Haisekishō! (Fire Style: Combustion Ash Cloud Jutsu)" Toshihiko said quietly while she spewed ash from her mouth which had a great heat already. Not stopping until she was sure that she had left no chance for her opponent to escape from the ash cloud she landed rudley on the opposite tree. As she landed Toshihiko clicked her teeth causing the ash to ignite. A huge explosion came from the inside of the smoke cloud. While this happened Toshihiko tried as best as she could not to fall from the fir and hoped her opponent would be caught in her technique. Something told her that she should pull out a kunai just in case something went wrong and he tried to attack her again.

A VOICE RINGS THROUGH THE FOREST FROM A LOUDSPEAKER. THE ANNOUNCER IS ONE OF THE PROCTER'S FOR THE CHUUNIN EXAMS, "YOU HAVE ALL DONE WELL DURING THIS FIRST TEST. NOW THE TIME HAS COME FOR THE REAL TEST....." A LONG SILENCE FOLLOWED, MORE THAN LIKELY AN ATTEMPT TO BUILD UP SUSPENSE. " ....THOSE OF YOU REMAINING MUST NOW MAKE YOUR WAY OUT OF THE FOREST AND TO THE CHUUNIN EXAM FOR THE FINAL EXAM. THE ARENA IS LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF KONOHA, MAKE YOUR WAY THERE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE, THOSE WHO ARE LATE WILL SUFFER DISQUALIFICATION." THE ANNOUNCER STOPPED HIS SPEECH, SIGNIFYING THAT IS WAS NOW TIME FOR THE GENIN TO GET MOVING.

While Toshihiko clung onto the fir she waited for her opponent to attack or for the ash cloud to get blown away. While it slowly started to resolve the members of this part in the forest heard a familiar voice. She could recognize it as the voice from the protector. Her eyes where still focused on the results from the explosion. Her eyes started to tear a little from the ash but she still didn't allow herself to let her view fall from it not even for one second. With her free arm she held the sleeves from it to cover her mouth. Toshihiko still listened to the voice and after the speech had ended she decided to give her opponent some time. Eventually he would come out. But she didnt want to be disqualified after all. Focusing chakra in her feet she made 3 jumps to jump of the tree in a good distance. Toshihiko wondered if it would be alright just to leave Shin Megami behind but he was her opponent and if he would get any wrong ideas she eventually would just get into a troublesome situation. 'I need to make sure to look after him later' she thought to herself while trying to figure her way out of the forest. Her memory had let her down but after a few moments off walking Toshihiko discovered cracks on a few of the trees. Each of them had almost the same shape. She thought if the fellow ninja possibly had done them to find his way out of the forest again. Following the signed trees she finally saw the gates from the forest in the distance. Toshihiko smiled. Actually she had learned something from him after all. After a few minutes Toshihiko decided to make her way to the arena.

The forest of death was eerily silent, not even a bird dared caw within its depths. A lone boy lay unconcious face down in the dirt scorch marks all over his back and arms. The suns rays peeked through the green treetops and rested on the back of his head as a small bird glided gently out of the sky and landed on his head and started pecking at it lightly. A low muffled groan sounded from the boys near motionless body before he slowly began to roll over causing a loud chirp of protest from the bird as it began to beat its wings and gradually ascended back into the treetops.

Shins stared up at the bird as it slowly flew into the treetops before attempting to stand up; this inturn illicited several pained groans and a swear word or two from him as he steadily rose onto his feet. Turning his head around briefly Shin began to wonder where exactly he was and then it dawned on him. He'd lost the fight against that girl and was left unconcious when she found his scroll not on his person. "Well, im in no condition to put up a fight right now" he mused as he took a few shaky steps towards where he remembered himself coming from. "besides, this part of the exam is probably over by now anyway" he said recalling the voice that had boomed over a loudspeaker just as he passed out.

It took a while but eventually Shin finally made it out of the forest, to his great surprise a female shinboi stood at the entrance to the forest seemingly waiting for him as she constantly checked her clipboard and occasionally peered into the forest worriedly. As she sighted him she exhaled a sigh of relief and silently placed a tick on her clipboard. "Im assuming you were waiting for me" shin said looking the kunoichi up and down before catching her emerald eyes in a calm stare. "Uh yeah" she said looking away from him. "you were supposed to take part in the next part of the exam but you probably missed the deadline by now" she said as she turned back to face him only to see him once again laying face down in the dirt. The kunoichi ran over to Shin to examine him, and was surprised by the severity of the burns on his back. "I'd best get him some medical attention" she mused before slinging him carefully over her shoulder and heading off in the direction of the village.
