Appearance: Ichimaru appears as a tall, muscular young man with long, wild, teal green hair, an icy blue X across the center of his face, and gray eyes. He is a stoic and silent man dressed in a customized blue armor. His helm covers most of his face except for his eyes. Upon his clothes he wears his Akatsuki Cloack which he tends to wear like a cape, draped over the shoulders with the arms not in the sleeves. Unlike other Akatsuki member he doesn't have any nail polish and his Akatsuki ring with the kanji for North (北, hoku) is placed on his left middle finger.

Personality: Ichimaru is extremely calm, mature, cool, collected and always maintains a stern, serious and distanced personality. He is quiet, and keeps to himself a lot, only speaking when it is something of importance. He hasn't shown any emotions other than surprise when opponents proved more powerful or skilled than he had expected, and even then he doesn't lose his composure. He doesn't possess any arrogance, and fully justified any statements he made about his power, even complimenting his opponents at times on their abilities. It's worth mentioning that he displays a sense of honor which other Akatsuki seem to lack. He also is against the idea of needless bloodshed, even if honour is involved.

In addition to being an extremely powerful ninja, Ichimaru has equally impressive intelligence, and he is shown to be very wise. He is exceedingly sharp and observant to any situation at hand, as he is rarely surprised in battle or caught off guard. He has a great talent for analyzing and observing everything in his presence, allowing him to quickly understand a person's pattern of thinking. He also displayed great intuition, as he was almost never deceived and even then almost instantly realized the truth.

Kekkei Genkai Description: Ice Release (氷遁, Hyōton; Viz "Haku's Secret Arts of Water", English TV "Ice Style") allowes the user to combine wind and water-based chakra to create ice which he could manipulate through willpower alone. The ice created by the user is largely immune to fire-based attacks, only melting slightly when coming into contact with flames.

Using this Kekkei Genkai, Ichimaru developed abilities such as:

• Ice Manipulation: Ichimaru, cause of his Kekkei Genkai has the power to manipulate and generate ice by combining the elements of water and wind. As such, he doesn't need water to be present in order for him to use its abilities. The power he expels is so overwhelming that its mere release affects the weather within the immediate vicinity, creating a thunderstorm or a blizzard. His control is so great, Ichimaru is able to freeze anything he comes in contact with and can instantly perform any of his ice techniques. He does not have to hold the ice physically with his hands in order to shape it. Apparently he can simply direct the waves of coldness he projects in certain ways so as to create ice in the shape he desires. In the past, Ichimaru has formed ice-ladders, ice-slides, ice-shields and other constructs of ice.
  
• Thermal Vision: Ability to see beings due to the heat signature that others give off, because of the absence of heat around him
  
• Ice Form: While cannot be used costantly, Ichimaru has the ability to turn into ice and reform himself, even if the rest of his body is completely destroyed.
  
• Ice Breath: Ichimaru can use his breath to rapidly freeze objects, such as metallic chains, or an opponent. For a more advanced version of the technique, the user takes a deep breath and exhales the air as a cloud of freezing mist.

Description: Ichimaru's Signature technique. Ice Dragon Technique is a gigantic, icy blue, serpentine, powerful dragon with large wings and an echoing voice created out of ice. The dragon flies towards opponents and flash freezes anything it touches. It can also fire a powerful Ice Beam from it's mouth. Ichimaru can create multiple ice dragons to attack an opponent from various angles. Ichimaru can also use this jutsu in a different way by directing his slashes towards the ground and form a wave of ice which rushes over his opponents, overwhelming and freezing them.

By forming the ice into a large lens, the user can hover in the sky to focus the rays of the sun into a powerful beam capable of melting and exploding the pinpointed area.

Description: Whenever Ichimaru uses this jutsu his arms and legs are encased in ice that ends in claws. The ice continues forming up over his shoulders with two large wings sprouting from his back and a long, powerful tail with an icy tip. These new ice limbs are movable and can be used as an extension of himself to aid in battle. He is capable of using the wings for flight and of wrapping them around himself like a sphere protecting him from any attacks. The tail is capable of being used as a weapon or to lift and strangle a victim. In case any of those Ice limbs is damaged, Ichimaru with some cost of his chakra is able to regenerate them.

Description: A technique similar to the Shadow Clone (Kage Bushin), but the clones are instead formed of ice. They can perform the same duties and actions as the regular Shadow Clone. It is very life-like as it can appear to bleed. The user can create this ice statue of himself anywhere he chooses, and anyone who touches it will freeze. The difference with the normal Shadow Clone is that when they sustain enough damage, they turn in to ice and shatter. Also, the user can make a clone explode, causing deadly ice shards to shoot in all direction.

Description: Also known as Ice Age (氷河時代, Hyōgajidai) .An attack used only near the ocean or another large area of water. The user places his hand in the water, then in an instant freezes it (anything in/on it) completely solid. The actual extent of the ice can stretch for miles and last for over a week. An alternate version of this is where the user places his hand to the ground and uses his ability to instantly freeze an entire huge area turning it into an cold, frozen wasteland. Not only does it freeze the area, but anything and everything in the area, including living organisms, into completely frozen statues. It is undetermined how long the targets this version would remain frozen. Later uses of this attack have demonstrated that the user isn't limited to needing to make direct contact with his hands, as the attack can still be conducted as long as the ice he controls is in contact with both himself and the area he wishes to freeze. This is undoubtly the strongest technique of the clan.

Description: Ichimaru calls out the name of the jutsu, slashing a circle in the air and holds his sword upside down. When he does this, a large ice circle forms around him intended target which freezes everything that touches it. The circle not only freezes the ground but everything within the circle's influence including anything above it, up in the air, creating an extending pillar of light that then freezes all within the circle. Shortly after being frozen, the victim then shatters beatifully along with the ice. Ichimaru appears to be able to control the size of the circle at will.

Description: After gathering chakra the user gathers a ball of snow in his hand, seemingly harmless. However, inside the snowball, Ichimaru stores a great amount of chakra, which explodes on impact, making it an ice grenade. The user can also throw it to the upper body of his opponent, exploding his enemy from within. In order to make this jutsu work, it has to be used at high speed and in order to do so, it is easier to use this jutsu as a surprise attack.

Description: By manipulating ice chakra into the dominate hand, the user makes the ice expand to can create the form of a hound. To attack his opponent from a distance. The ice dog will still be connected to the user’s hand through a tunnel of freezing water. The user then manipulate the technique to attack the chosen target. Being a Ice Release, it requires little chakra from the user to maintain for a long period of time.

To do even more damage, if Ichimaru is above the ground, he can release the creature from his hands, making it fall to the ground, crushing anything on the ground directly under it. Its superb durability allows for both offensive and defensive purposes.
